About TU-ET-AL:
From an early age, Matthew and Natalie Kanbergs each discovered nature’s magic. Matthew in California’s redwood forests, and Natalie in the woodlands of Pennsylvania. These formative experiences sparked a profound respect for nature’s gifts, guiding them toward a lifelong connection to the natural world.
In 2009, Matthew and Natalie met and quickly became partners in both life and creativity. Together, they cultivated an indoor garden in their New York City apartment and made a commitment to eliminate synthetic products from their home. This shared dedication to nature and wellness laid the foundation for what would become TU·ET·AL. Natalie earned her herbal certification at the NY Open Center, while Matthew deepened his practice in plant cultivation. Together, they began crafting household and body products, drawing from Taoist practices, alchemy, and plant medicine, melding their individual knowledge into a unified vision.
With the birth of their first son, they embraced the next stage of their journey, moving to a cabin in the Catskill Mountains. This new home, surrounded by nature, provided the perfect environment for the evolution of their vision and the growing business that would become TU·ET·AL. Through his apprenticeship with master soap-maker Susan Ryhanen of Saipua, along with ongoing studies in herbalism and Andean Cosmology, Matthew continues to refine his craft. Natalie’s deep connection to herbalism and nature further fuels their shared mission. Together, Matthew and Natalie have built TU·ET·AL, a company that honors the earth and channels the transformative power of nature and the cosmos into products that support wellness and sustainability. Through their journey, they offer others the opportunity to reconnect with the healing magic of nature.

OBSIDIAN- Obsidian is dark beauty made visible, a bar that invites reflection, reclamation, and the mystery of inner light. Crafted with activated charcoal and water potentiated with an obsidian crystal under each New Moon, this soap carries the energy of transformation and resonance. Its essential oil blend holds an earthy depth and richness, subtly illuminated by a bright citrus top note. Obsidian is a return to the depths where radiance is born. Obsidian's blend is both grounding and luminous. Earthy patchouli and cedar draw you inward, offering stability and depth, while litsea cubeba brings a soft beam of citrus clarity. Together, they create a scent that holds contrast—dark and light, ancient and alive.

METEOR SHOWER- Meteor Shower is an awakening in motion, inspired by the fleeting brilliance of light streaking across a night sky. Infused with potentiated spring water charged beneath meteor showers, this bar carries the subtle energy of the cosmos and invites transformation with every use. A vibrant blend of essential oils invigorates the senses and clears the mind, bringing together elements of brightness, depth, and renewal. Finely ground apricot shells gently exfoliate, leaving skin smooth and revitalized. Let Meteor Shower reflect the spark within you, clear and radiant, a reminder of the light you hold. Fresh and electrifying, Meteor Shower’s essential oil blend evokes the rush of cool wind and cosmic energy. Eucalyptus leads with a crisp, expansive breath. Camphor sharpens the edge, while patchouli lends smoky depth. Blood orange adds a bright spark, and black pepper grounds the blend with subtle fire. The scent is both energizing and elemental.

ARTEMISIA-Earthy and magical, Artemisia is their deepest cleansing bar which carries the scents of conifers to root you into the forest. Green clay works with wildcrafted mugwort to pull out impurities and tone the skin, while the sacred sage, grown in our garden, clears away both the physical and energetic muck that the herbs and clays have drawn out. Artemisia’s scent is a vivid forest incantation filled with crisp conifers, crushed herbs, and cool green shadows. This in-house crafted blend of pure essential oils includes evergreen needles, resins, and purifying botanicals that deepen the cleansing experience while uplifting the senses. Both grounding and clarifying, the aroma lingers softly on the skin, connecting you to earth and ether alike.

SOLSTICE- Solstice is a study in balance—a bar suspended between two poles of light. The waters used in this soap are individually potentiated: one beneath the expansive radiance of the Summer Solstice, the other in the quiet depth of Winter. Combined in the making of the soap, they embody the harmony of outward vitality and inward warmth. The scent itself mirrors this balance, softening the outward heat of summer and kindling the quiet fire of winter. Its essential oil blend brings a sense of grounded clarity, led by clary sage's calming presence. French red clay complements this with gentle purification and protection, anchoring the bar in earthy balance. Solstice reminds us that stillness and change can coexist, and that balance is often found in the spaces between. Solstice carries a grounding yet luminous aroma. Clary sage brings ease and emotional clarity. Hungarian pine needle evokes cool stillness, clove offers soft spice, and litsea cubeba lifts the blend with citrus brightness. Together, they create a scent that feels both spacious and steady, helping you return to center no matter the season.

Base for all bars:
Olive Oil
The foundation of their formula—rich in gentle, skin-loving fatty acids that cleanse without stripping and help maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Coconut Oil
Provides cleansing power and contributes to a rich, expansive lather.

Kokum Butter
A firm, non-comedogenic butter that contributes to a long-lasting, hard bar while supporting skin repair and elasticity.

Organic Castor Oil
Enhances creaminess and stability of the lather.

Shea Butter
Adds an extra layer of softness and moisture to support skin hydration.

Organic Jojoba Oil
A liquid wax ester that closely mimics the skin’s natural sebum. Because it does not fully saponify, it remains partially intact in the final bar, offering lasting nourishment and countering the dryness found in most bar soaps.
